Whenever you want, get a report on where you've been and when you were there.
Repeat step 3 at your leisure.
Important notes:
Continued use of GPS running in the background can dramatically decrease battery life. See the Settings page for options to improve battery life.
Apple Location Services can work well in many cases, but it has limitations, including bizarre location shifts especially after entering large buildings.
Turning WiFi services off will cause location accuracy to decrease significantly.
Sometimes a Time Map report will show "Cannot Obtain Address". This happens if the internet was not available or iPhone/Google services were busy when you were at the location. You can still obtain the address by simply clicking on the Time Map entry. If the address still shows "Cannot Obtain Address", click Done, and click on the entry again. After obtaining the address, select "Map", and the correct address will be saved.
Privacy:
MayMyTime is entirely private to the user, and is not intended for tracking by other parties. The user can edit or delete any entry, or delete the entire Time Map database at anytime.
We do NOT collect ANY location data from the MapMyTime application. However, this application uses Location Services provided by Apple Inc. that determine your approximate location. This information is collected by Apple Inc. under privacy policies available directly from Apple, Inc..
MapMyTime Pro Upgrade:
MapMyTime Pro allows access to all stored Time Map data. The free version can only access yesterday and today Time Maps.
MapMyTime Pro allows you to turn off advertisements. Advertisements can be turned back on if desired.
On / Off Switch
Use the On/Off Switch to start or stop MapMyTime from recording your locations. You do NOT need to do this when you arrive or leave. You simply turn it on once, and MapMyTime will keep working in the background. If for some reason, you do not want your locations recorded, you may use this switch to stop recording, and then turn it on again later.
Mode Indicator
You control your battery life and location accuracy mode on the settings screen.
Settings: select to change settings.
Time Maps: select to view where you have been.
Battery Life / Accuracy Mode Settings
MapMyTime has four modes of operation to balance battery life and accuracy. Depending on hardware and software version, all modes may not be available.
Best accuracy, but battery may not last a day.
Good accuracy, but will probably require charging battery once/day.
Fair accuracy. In this mode, it is more likely that a location may be missed, or that the time at a travel location may be recorded as longer than actual.
Poor accuracy. In this mode, you will get an approximate indication of where you have been, but arrival and departure times may be very inaccurate.
General Settings
Time Map data: Time Map data is stored indefinitely, but you can delete data using this function.
Save Interval: minimum amount of time at a location before the location is saved.
Away Interval: maximum amount of time away from a location that will be ignored. This setting both improves accuracy, and allows the user to step away, such as to retrieve something from a car, and not interrupt the saving of a location.
Location Range: range that will be considered one location. Note, decreasing the range will not generally affect accuracy. Increasing the range will allow a single location to be recorded if the user is moving around on a large property.
Time Maps
Set the Date Range. The free version of MapMyTime will only allow a date range of yesterday and today. Use the in-app purchase to upgrade and access all data.
Choose 'All' or a specific location. Locations need to be named within a Time Map.
Detailed Time Map: each location visited during the time range.
Summary Time Map: a summary of time spent at each location during the time range.
In a detailed time map, the colored icon will indicate the accuracy of the location. Red or orange often indicates an indoor location with poor satellite visibility.
Within time maps, you may send email, name a location, bring up a map, edit the entry, or show the details of a summary entry.
